ABOUT LITTLE INTERMISSION
The kids deserve a good time, too.
Little Intermission was created around a simple idea: when the grown-ups have plans, the little ones should have something to look forward to, too.
Through on-site Event Childcare and small-group Play Groups, we create space for children to play, make, move, explore, and connect. Sometimes that means a space of their own in the middle of a wedding or celebration. Other times, it’s an hour built entirely around them.
However Little Intermission looks that day, the idea is the same: the kids get a genuinely good time of their own, and their grown-ups get a little intermission, too.
THE IDEA
Room to join in. Room to do their own thing.
Little Intermission is built around the idea that children don’t all play, participate, or engage in the same way.
Some little ones want to move, make, explore, and be right in the middle of things. Others need a quieter moment, or a little time to warm up. We meet them where they are and adapt as their needs and interests change.
Whether it’s a celebration or a Play Group, the goal is the same: give children space to enjoy the experience in a way that feels like their own.
MEET CAIRA
From childcare to curtain calls—and back again.
Long before Little Intermission, working with children was already a big part of my life. I’ve spent 15 years caring for children of all ages, learning firsthand how differently each child plays, communicates, and finds their place in a group.
At the same time, I built a career in the performing arts. For a decade, I worked professionally as a performer, from cruise ships to national tours—an experience that taught me a lot about creativity, adaptability, and keeping things moving when plans inevitably change.
More recently, I stepped offstage and into managing performing arts programs for children and families, bringing those two parts of my background together in a completely different way.
Little Intermission grew out of all of it: years spent caring for children, a life in the performing arts, and the belief that kids should have an experience of their own.

THE LITTLE INTERMISSION APPROACH
There’s no one way to play.
FOLLOW THEIR LEAD
Some kids jump right in. Others need time to warm up, observe, or do their own thing. We adapt to the children in front of us.
GO WITH THE FLOW
Plans change. Energy shifts. Interests do, too. We leave room to adjust rather than expecting every child—or every group—to follow the same plan.
LET KIDS BE KIDS
No pressure to perform, participate, or stay busy. There’s room to play, create, move, rest, laugh, and simply enjoy being there.
